Author and art historian: Mats Linder aims to highlight the icons of Norwegian design. For several decades, he has collected and documented Norwegian and Scandinavian design history. This formed the basis for the book series on a topic that has been under-communicated.

"Høvik Lys was for more than 100 years the country's largest producer of lighting. Jonas Hidle, Kjell Munch, and Arnulf Bjørshol were the firm's foremost designers. Over five decades, they left their mark on Norwegian lighting culture. Developing lamps for Oslo City Hall was a comprehensive and challenging task. The designers had to adapt the lighting to the different characters of the rooms. Most prestigious were the 11 giant chandeliers at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a gift from the Norwegian government. However, the consumer market was most important. Akershus, Viking, Dovre, and Jonas were all lamps that were well received."

I designed book number fifteen in the series “Norwegian Design and Craftsmanship”, under the guidance of Linda Skarpås.
